A few highlights to fill you in on since I've been M.I.A:

- I went to NYC where I had a SATC Girls weekend. It was so cool. It was a nice chill weekend. Great food, great company, and overall a great escape from Miami.

- I have been to the movies just about every weekend (saw Karate Kid & honestly way better than I thought...Not only did I see it in the theatre but I will rent it when it comes out - enough said!)

I

-I have been eating tons of sweets which is so not cute for my bikini body. My MALE friend has a bigger sweet tooth than me which is good & bad. GOOD because I don't feel like a total fat ass for having cupcakes and ice cream. BAD because if I get a late night 12 a.m craving he won't stop me which is possibly why I have gained like what feels like 10 lbs since April not the case but it feels like it

- I went to visit my older brother up in Melbourne, Florida with my dad for Fathers Day, Got to see my nieces and nephew and boy do I feel like I miss so much with them living far away. This trip made me realize how much I miss them. They are so big. They truly are my hearts. I can't imagine what it will feel like the day I have my own children!

- I have been seeing/dating someone. Which is the reference to MALE friend above. Well he & I have been hanging out A LOT. He makes me feel special and overall its REALLY NICE . He makes me :) & I am happy so I will keep you posted on where this leads!

Que mas......well this weekend I am getting away and heading to Ft.Myers with some of the crew. Should be lots of fun. Escapes are always good.

My intentions are to BLOG regularly and I know I have made those promises before BUT I plan on following through!

I was brought into this world on May 11,1982.... literally this day a *STAR* was born :)

This Birthday Celebration was hands down one of the funnest

I came up with the idea to have an 80's Skate BDAY Jam and NOT FOR NOTHING but it was a genius idea on my part. I also decided to make it a joint celebration with one of my bestest buddies Duy since our BDAYS are only 6 days apart!

At work on Fridays my coworkers are humming tunes, laughing, & they are not stingy or greedy.

They bring loafs of Cuban bread and pastelitos to help with the diet!

SO I was reminded today that I haven't blogged since April 16th - thats 10 days!
I have no valid excuse as to why I haven't been blogging.
TO be honest I have soooooo much to blog about. I have been just been really busy or really lazy the days I am not busy.

The last 10 days have consisted of blog-a-versary celebrations, happy hours on Sunset and happy hours by the ocean, GIRL confessions, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, failed work out attempts which led to more GIRL confessions, a new FRIEND, spring semester ended which leaves me with 2 weeks school free & hanging out with the new FRIEND.

I promise I will post my upcoming events...like this Saturday I have The Brew @ the Zoo which I am really excited about.

Now its HONESTY time.
Any moment I am not busy doing something I can't help but think about how life has changed from a year ago.
BUZZ KILL I know but this Sunday is "what would" have been a momentous anniversary. :*(
Luckily I have plans to have lunch with my momma dukes and aunts. Which I am really looking forward to since I haven't seen my mom since February! NUTS but it is what it is!

On a brighter note I am beyond excited for my NY trip with my ladies in May....NYC BALLS here I come...LOL

Morning Phone Call

I have just pushed the snooze button and am looking forward to my additional 9 minutes of sleep when my phone rings. It's 7:12 am! Who and why is someone calling me so early? I look at the screen and a picture of my dad appears.

First thought "something happened" then a split second later I thought "What does he want now?".

I know that's f'd up but you know that you have certain people who only call to complain or because they want something? Well my dad can sometimes fall under that category.

So I answer the phone and my dad asks if I was sleeping. I obviously answer with a lie "No I was just about to jump in the shower". Why do I have to lie? Because I should be up and already out of the shower AND I didn't want to make him feel bad for waking me up. The conversation goes into the typical "Que me cuentas? Que ay de nuevo?" [TRANSLATION: Tell me something...whats new?]

What caught me off guard is when my dad says to me "Sorry I didn't call you yesterday but I got busy, was stuck in traffic, when I got home it was dark, I ate and I just wanted you to know I didn't forget about you."

Talk about a total AWWWWWWWWWW moment!

I felt like shit after that because there I was when the phone was first ringing thinking "What does this man want?"

My dad may never know but that made my day :)

PASSWORD'S

When I was younger I had passwords that ranged from the name of boys I had crushes on to random things like Cool Tools82, Talons68, Chicken Moo11 and so on. I made sure no one would ever figure out my passwords!

My passwords now are a little more sophisticated.

Now I have about 10 or so different passwords. They get more and more complicated!

* CAPS, non caps, symbols, numbers*

Whats next? Will I have to write on the keyboard upside down or lick the screen for DNA verification?

WHAT I do know is what NOT to use as passwords at work.

A random POST is in order

Since yesterday I have been trying to finish this awesome post BUT I have some audio I want to include with it an its not working!!!

UGHHHHHHHHHHH - Ayyyyyyyyyyyy! So frustrated about not being able to post yesterday or today .... it's funny as hell too BUT it needs the AUDIO!



Anyway today I am excited because we are half way there people...to FRIDAY!
It's been a hell of a week...literally!
It doesn't help that Miami's weather is acting all WIGGITY WIGGITY WACK!
On some days, normally weekdays between 8-5 the weather is GORGEOUS.
Then on weekends Mother Nature likes to play Peek A Boo with the sun. Its so bad that I feel like I need to have my bikini in my bag so that when the sun is out I can take advantage and tan.

SO far this week , Monday's weather sucked big monkey balls and yesterday it was nice during the day and when I got out of work and went to go workout it rained and then got super COOL...like wear a sweater cool! WTH!?!?




MIAMI please give me a day filled with sun and extreme UV RAYS --->>>



On a super brighter note....since I have not been alone with having a crappy week my friends and I have organized a Mid Week Happy Hour! YEYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Alcohol is needed in my system now in order to get through Thursday and Friday!

A friend of mine posted that as his status update on facebook and it got me thinking.....

Even though there have been people who have walked out of my life and left me with a broken heart it was and has been the best thing to ever happen to me. With every heartbreak I feel like amazing things have happened. Not that it hasn't been tough but I feel like I know who Madelyn is. In the end as much as it all hurts I learned to appreciate myself and really value the person that I am. As much as I hate what certain persons have done to me and I don't understand the whole "Everything happens for a reason" saying it remains engraved in my head because I KNOW one day I will get it...and though these lessons are grueling I am slowly starting to get it...I think!

No Pain No Gain I suppose.

So a big F' You to the A'Holes who have caused me pain but with my F'You also THANK YOU for doing me the favor of walking out because now I have the opportunity to find REAL LOVE and be truly happy :)

So how was I cheating?

My friends & I have been working on our fitness and watching what we eat to prepare our Beach Bodies that have gone into hiding...Like Osama Bin Laden hiding!

My motivation for searching for this long lost BEACH BOD occurred was while looking at some pics from my trip to the Water Rapids.

HOLY F' BOMB! WHAT a wake up call!

I was like "Girlfriend! That relaxed muscle situation you got going in the abdomen is not cute...you be looking 4 months pregnant with twins!"

SO I have been working out pretty hardcore and eating right all week.

FYI & prob a lil TMI but my legs and thighs hurt so much that I rethink having to go pee to avoid doing anything that may resemble a squat position!

Now enough about that...
